Overall Satisfaction with Basecamp
We use Basecamp as a project management tool. Although it does it's job, the layout isn't very intuitive and it's a bit confusing how the projects are managed. Other project management tools seem to organize projects in a layout that makes more sense. It is a nice feature that Basecamp has a generic chat function built in, that doesn't need to be tied to a specific project, however, these days it seems most organizations use Slack for their internal communications.
Pros
- Project Management
- Task Assignment
Cons
- Layout and User Experience
- Clearer Project Organization
- It has helped us organize tasks
- Beyond keeping track of tasks it hasn't added much value
I've also used ClickUp and Asana. My personal favorite is ClickUp although it is limited in how it integrates with Slack which caused me to switch to Asana. ClickUp has a ton of features, including on their free plan and in my opinion is much better than Basecamp. Asana is similar although offers less on their free version and requires more add-ons to get all the same features ClickUp offers as standard.
