Overall Satisfaction with BigCommerce
BigCommerce is being used across the whole company from publishing products to the site, to processing and dispatching orders, collecting customer email addresses and editing the website's appearance.
Pros
- Helps users create stylish but functional websites.
- Makes processing and dispatching orders simple and efficient.
- BigCommerce is at the forefront of e-commerce software, for example, it is often compatible with other third party software to create a fully functional site.
Cons
- Creating product options and creating rules for them can be a little confusing so streamlining how they are entered and organised would help.
- If something has been missed or not entered when creating or updating a product, the page refreshes with an error message but all the newly entered content has been lost which is really frustrating.
- Editing HTML files isn't always straight forward as I can't always find the file I need to edit.
- The blog is one of the most frustrating aspects of bigcommerce. It's clunky and doesn't look as slick as it could even after I've customised it to suit my requirements. The only reason I haven't moved to a subdomain or wordpress is I want the SEO benefits that come with using the on-site blog.
- Online Store
Mailchimp and Conversio both allow me to collect email address through my bigcommerce site.
- bigcommerce has allowed me to spend less time uploading new products as it's so simple to do in the CMS.
- The SEO functionality is great and I'm sure this has resulted in better Google listings so the site can be found by customers.
- Using bigcommerce has also allowed me to collect customer email addresses with no extra effort.
