Overall Satisfaction with BigCommerce
BigCommerce currently supports a couple of our websites. As an e-commerce business, it plays a vital role in delivering quality content and products in a speedy, SEO-friendly manner that our customers have grown to expect. There are some limitations to BigCommerce, if I am being honest, but the overall experience is quite good, and their support team is fantastic.
Pros
- Customer Service
- Server UpTime
- User-Friendly Backend
Cons
- Due to BigCommerce's rigorous safety concerns, some newer, cutting-edge items may be unavailable.
- The Coupon Code system could be more sophisticated/customizable.
- Prior frameworks get neglected to critical updates.
- Easily silo departments
- Streamlined check out
- Customer reacquisition efforts
Not available
A cool aspect of BigCommerce is the ability to choose from different themes available for each framework, be it Blueprint or Stencil. With a little customization, these themes provide a unique experience for each and every customer that comes to your store - and best of all, by having a framework in place it greatly diminishes the amount of work required for you to get that customized look and feel of your site.
Magento: Magento is a competitor with BigCommerce and offers a really compelling platform. To me, the downside with Magento is that it is really labor intensive and costly to get things up & running. In addition to that, the cost of using Magento is daunting. Shopify: Shopify is similar to BigCommerce but I prefer the look and feel of BigCommerce. In addition, their backend, to me, is much more user-friendly and accessible than Shopify's.
