Short Review of Initial Bitly Experience
Overall Satisfaction with Bitly
I use Bitly as part of our email marketing through Bronto. The URLs that we try to implement in our XML product data coding for Bronto require the use of shortened links in order to work, so I chose to use Bitly. I like how Bitly tracks the clicks on each Bitly link, but we will primarily be using the resources within Bronto for any necessary data analysis.
Pros
- Allows us to customize the URL for the Bitly link.
- Tracks clicks on each Bitly link.
- Works quickly and reliably.
Cons
- More extensive or advanced data analysis.
- Outside work with other software or vendors that will expand Bitly and also let Bitly be integrated within the software of other products.
- Our URLs had XML coding within the URL itself, which messed up when we tried to create our own XML code to upload into Bronto. So Bitly allowed us to find a workaround where we could use the Bitly links in our XML code instead of the original URL which would not work.
