Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud eTapestry

Our organization collections donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations. I use Blackbaud eTapestry to track how much each person/organization donates each year. This helps us with our fundraising efforts because 1) we see how many new donors we've acquired in a given year; 2) we see how many repeat donors are committed to supporting our organization year after year; and 3) we track any one-time donors and see if there's a means to connect with them and keep them in the loop for organizational news/events. The database also lets us produce donor acknowledgement letters with in-platform templates and layouts.

Pros

  • Produces donor acknowledgement letters and allows for many templates to be saved/used.
  • Charts long-time donor histories.
  • Allows a business to have multiple point-of-contacts/addresses.

Cons

  • Interface could be more intuitive.
  • Larger font size for default text (for visually impaired.)
  • A dark screen/ night mode for light fluctuations (i.e., instead of white screen, a darker screen).
  • Saves time on making donor acknowledgement letters - uses template and pre-fills with name, address, etc.
  • Allows better relationship with donors because we can more immediately track and respond to contributions.
  • Less paper, more digital records. (More Eco-friendly).
It's usable and very convenient, but not always intuitive. For example, we had difficulties figuring out how to pull a list of donors from a specific 12-month period. There were many settings and options, so it was very trial and error.

Pros: 1) Easy to make donor acknowledgement letters for old and new accounts. 2) Easy to see previous donations on an account. 3) Easy to add new donations to an account. Cons: 1) Not always intuitive (ex: difficult to pull list of donors from a specific 12-month period); learning curve to fully implement 2) Sometimes eTapestry is slow/takes a while to buffer - not always immediate results.
