Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT

Our Foundation uses Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT (and Raiser's Edge Classic) as our constituent relationship database. We use the software to track constituents, gifts, actions, opportunities, etc., for our full development operation. Since we have adopted Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT, our frontline fundraisers are much better at documenting all necessary information on their prospects in the system.

Pros

  • Ease of use for end-users.
  • Ability to easily access on mobile devices.
  • Ease of creating lists in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT (rather than queries in Raiser's Edge Classic) and ease of exporting data from lists into Excel.
  • Ability to upload photos of prospects easily.
  • Ability to upload gift agreements, opportunities, planned giving documents, etc., into the system easily.

Cons

  • Ability to customize reporting.
  • Having all functionality/features available in Raiser's Edge Classic also available in Raiser's Edge NXT.
  • Ability to create more complex lists.
  • Ease of use.
  • Ability to use on a mobile device.
  • Easy to build lists on constituents, actions, gifts, etc.
  • Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT has been a staff time saver for the Foundation. Some staff is able to build their own lists quickly instead of having to request everything they need/want through our data analytics team.
  • We have increased our donor count and our revenue for many reasons, but Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT plays a part in both by allowing us to have a strong prospect management system because it is so easy for frontline fundraisers to use the software.
The analytics and data intelligence are nice features and they allow the fundraisers to get a quick, big picture, of how they are performing. The fact that we cannot edit or adjust the analytics in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT is sometimes a challenge for us and it leads us to still pull the majority of our reporting from Raiser's Edge Classic.

I think Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT is well suited for larger organizations with higher expense budgets. I do not believe it is a cost-effective tool for smaller shops. If you have a seasoned Development team but they are struggling with the ease of use of their organization's database, then Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT could be a solution for them. It makes it super easy for the frontline fundraisers to enter their actions, opportunities, notes, gift agreements, etc.
