Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT

We use it as our database and tool for fundraising management, moves management, and data entry. We follow donors through Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT to see what gifts are due, compare to their giving last year, and who we need to cultivate and work more with to receive an optimal gift. We use it as a dashboard to see our campaign progress and donor status.

Pros

  • Shows a good dashboard of donors currently working with
  • Reminds me when gifts are due and who has outstanding gifts
  • Helps me organize my donor contacts and priorities

Cons

  • The training has been lackluster
  • We can't connect all financial transactions we want to NXT
  • Our donor services team has to use backend RE to enter gifts
  • Volunteer Management
  • Giving history and notes
  • Biographical information
  • The database has not had an impact on fundraising
  • It's an expensive product to use if you can't use all the features
We have not been able to spend enough time exploring this. We have a unique set of donors, that we already know a lot about so what would be helpful is finding new prospects.
  • Online Training
It has been hard to find the time to delve into it and understand it. Things that we are using keep getting changed and it's frustrating.

Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT is an ok product and can get the job done for many nonprofits. I would expect that a larger nonprofit would be most successful with it and the products available, but there are many issues with Blackbaud including a monopoly on the market. In my experience, after their major security breach a few years ago, the products that they have offered and changed because of security do not necessarily support our end goal. I am considering looking at different products.
