BrowserStack pocketdynamo Capabilities Constraints and Use Cases
Overall Satisfaction with BrowserStack
We primarily use BrowserStack for cross browser testing and cross device & mobile testing. The main business problems which we are addressing using this tool is that we are able to test our application performance on real mobile devices not just emulators and validating the responsiveness and behaviour on different screens.Apart from that we are also able to emulate certain applications in Windows XP emulator( to test the applications running on old IE9 browser for few products of ours)
Pros
- Provides well set up emulators for mobile testing
- Provides the complete setup for cross browser testing needs
- Test locally hosted or staging apps in BrowserStack Local
Cons
- Can improve the readabality of the UI interface for clear understanding
- Can include Desktop Automation features
- Can improve the performance side of the tool for bulk testing
- Can improve the number of parallel tests which can be carried out in the license plan
- Cross browser compatibility
- All Mobile Emulators supported
- Test on Real mobile device supported
- Different version of any browser supported
- 75% ROI is achieved using BrowserStack specifically on Mobile testing needs on diferent emulators
- Cross Browser Testing is also huge positive on ROI front
- Negative impact is license cost is somewhat on higher end so can provide license to entire team
Prior to BrowserStack we were using Selenium which had limited capabilities for Mobile and emulator testing. With help of BrowserStack we are able to cover real mobile testing needs and the emulator testing as well. And the pace in which we were able to close our testing items is incredible fast because of this tool
- App Automate
Yes App live and App Automate met our needs
BrowserStack is much compact and faster compared to Katalon studio for mobile testing and supporting a lot of emulators compared to Katalon. The licensing cost is also better compared to Katalon and the user base of BrowserStack is high with official documentation well in place for all clarifications
