Canva makes my business beautiful
Overall Satisfaction with Canva
As sole proprietor in my business with no employees, I use Canva myself for creating images for social media posts, e-mail headers, e-book designs, and PowerPoint slides.
Pros
- Canva offers great templates that I can use to start my designs from - I don't need to have a design mind to create something visually striking.
- Canva allows for each individual component of a design to be customized, rendering my designs unique.
- I love the feature where I can resize an existing design. I can take a social media post, and resize it to make for a professional e-mail header, a cover page of an e-book, or a slide in a PowerPoint presentation.
Cons
- Sometimes the functionality is slow and awkward. (freezing, or movements lag)
- There are very basic controls for working through the layers in an image - I can only seem to be able to work with the top layers.
- My designs are all stored together on the site, from most recent to oldest. I would love to be able to organize the files into folders for easier reference and searching, or at least be able to filter in what order the files show up, like by name etc.
- I have received many compliments on how beautiful and professional the images are that I put out in my business.
- It has helped create credibility in my small business to have such sharp images to go along with my website, social media presence, and newsletters (and more).
- It is a bit pricey for a small business, especially during months when I am not creating much (or any) designs. I would have loved to see different usage packages so that I could choose what makes the most sense for my volume of use of the service.
I have not tried other products. I began with Canva based on recommendations from other small business owners.
