Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Business Edition 6000 (BE6000)

We use the Cisco Business Edition 6000 (BE6000) in our organization to provide VOIP phone services to all internal staff. Phones are located in several offices scattered across our WAN network and in many geographic locations in Canada. The list of services this system runs include: call manager, unity (voicemail), instant messaging and presence, expressway, paging, voice call recording and phone deployment services.

  • provides full telephony support for pretty much any phone requirement including call centre options
  • 911 service dialing options and tracking
  • bundle pricing on voice, phone and server licensing
  • requirements gathering is complex and requires cisco sales to help
  • administration and support is very technical and complex
  • out of box setup and time consuming and difficult
  • systems integration is very complex and requires specific skills
  • Been easy to scale as our business has grown and from acquisitions
  • Been pretty easy to maintain the software and upgrade it over its lifetime to date
  • Software and license renewals are pretty straight forward
  • Adding newer model hardware to the system is pretty straight forward
I have also managed more than one older POTS based phone systems. All of them were more complicated and technically difficult to manage day-to-day. Cisco Business Edition 6000 (BE6000) makes this as easy as it can. But does come with a steep learning curve to get administration, licensing, and support well in hand. You need someone with good IT skills to manage this. As Cisco Business Edition 6000 (BE6000) releases new updates to this software it is getting a bit easier to manage along with new additional options and capabilities
Cisco Business Edition 6000 (BE6000) TAC support is great. Ticket management, communication, triage to the necessary support engineer, and knowledge in fixing issues are exceptional. Support has always been timely in resolving any voice issue we have put to them. we have had a few and no delayed responses from them.

Businesses in the 200+ staff (and/or handsets) and more is where this shines. Very scalable and pretty straight forward to manage once running. Does have a significant learning curve for administration but organizations this size usually have skilled staff on house.

Everything from admin, accounting, marketing, executive, IT, operations, engineering, HR, and legal.We implemented Cisco Business Edition 6000 (BE6000) to facilitate all calling options in our organization. It has and continues to meet our needs for all staff. We have added features to the system over the years and it's been very success in doing what we needed and were promoted.
4 - We have one Cisco Business Edition 6000 (BE6000) certified voice and network expert and 3 systems administrators. this provides enough coverage to split up tasks, administration, and support services on a day-to-day basis.
