Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Meraki provides us with fantastic networking hardware that creates a seamless wireless experience and exceptional device management. The integrated interface allows us to control devices regardless of their location and get visibility of what is connected to the network. They are reliable and fast with great customer support and service.

Pros and Cons

Provides reliable and fast network access.
Easy to use interface.
Well designed products that are easy to install and implement.

The interface is a little dry and simple but does have all of the information you need.
Being 100% cloud managed means you are dependent 100% on the cloud working.
Devices can be a little costly but I guess you get what you pay for.

Simplified Management

Cisco Meraki MX deploy's in a snap with plenty of configuration options and little overhead. The management interface is great, even though it can be a bit dry and understated, it has what you need and makes life simple on the IT department. You can tell a lot of thought went into the GUI.

Integrations with other Cisco products

NETGEAR Ethernet Switches and Microsoft Azure Active Directory

Cisco provides great integration with Active Directory allowing for user authentication for VPN, etc. and it works seamlessly allowing for employees and others to utilize company resources from remote locations. Cisco's interface is easy to use for these integrations easing the burden on the IT staff and taking existing infrastructure and implementing it quickly.

Scalability

Because it is cloud-managed there is little onsite support needed. Often departments are scattered across different regions but Cisco Meraki MX products don't care where someone is located. The software can be accessed anywhere making it simple to deal with changes and other issues that arise where you are located.

Likelihood to Recommend

For companies with branch locations and limited staff, the MX products are awesome as they require less onsite support and work really well utilizing the cloud. They are easy to deploy and configure so integrating or replacing existing network infrastructure can streamline management and visibility to the entire network.

For single locations and simpler networks having hardware utilizing the cloud for management is less important and can create wasted expense.
