Cisco Umbrella works great with Apple

Cisco Umbrella is great for securing our Apple products would definitely recommend it to anyone that is looking for security. We were using Cylance before and it does not compare to what Cisco Umbrella can do. It is great for large companies that have many devices that need to be protected throughout.

The main challenges we faced were getting devices to work offsite with Cisco Umbrella installed. We are mainly an Apple workforce so it was a steep learning curve. We have to modify the PList file to allow Cisco Umbrella to work on MacBooks and had to make changes to our iPad policies as well.

We have experiences issues with websites being blocked that were not needed to be blocked because of incorrect classifications. This cause some issues, but for the most part we were able to fix through troubleshooting. The good outweighs the bad by far because of the level of security we received from Cisco Umbrella.

It was a positive impact overall. We were able to work from home during the Covid pandemic as well as the back to work process. This allowed us to keep making progress and moving forward even when most of the country was at a stand still. By allowing children to keep learning from home, we were able to keep from falling back due to lack of education.

It is installed on all devices in our district. So all instructors and students have it on their one to one devices.

Cisco works great for us for our hybrid workforce because we do not have to be tied down to just the office. We can use devices anywhere and still be protected.
