We wanted to prevent our users from accessing potentially dangerous content urls. Also how to restrict access to certain content to certain users.

For the remote sites, they all have a DHCP server that assigns a site IP to users and the Cisco Umbrella DNS, so all users use this DNS.
For roaming users, they have Cisco Umbrella DNS configured on their devices to ensure secure browsing.

In this way we ensure that all company employees have safe Internet browsing.
Cisco Umbrella is a very modular product and easy to connect with other products since it is a DNS server.

We have configured our DHCP servers that the IPs of the DNS servers are those of Cisco Umbrella.

Likewise, in small offices, we have configured the IPs of the Cisco Umbrella DNS servers in our electronic network and APs.
We've had few problems with this solution, so we've had little use of technical support.

Indicate that when we have used it, the communication has been very fluid and our doubts have been resolved in a very fast and professional way.

The support has always been aware that their answers were the correct ones to solve our problems.
Previously we used the Squid browsing proxy for DNS filtering.

The problem is that it was all very manual, you had to define the urls to which you should give access or which you wanted to deny, but it was the IT staff who had to maintain this list.
The Squid interface was the console and when you already had a list of urls configured it was very difficult to maintain it.

With this tool, manual maintenance has been eliminated and the lists are always up-to-date.
With this we have achieved that manual maintenance is minimal.

They asked us to secure the Internet browsing of the users of a company, avoiding access to ulr's of inappropriate content (sex, drugs, ...) or that were potentially dangerous (viruses, ...).With this tool we achieved what they requested, prohibiting Internet browsing to inappropriate and dangerous content for all employees, although some people had to access a website that was on those automatic lists generated by the tool. To avoid this problem, we defined exceptions for these few users so that they could browse these Internet pages.
