Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Webex Meetings

Webex Meetings is used primarily by the Network Infrastructure and Security teams in the IT department of my organization, and usually in a "passive" capacity. That is, when a vendor or support engineer needs to schedule a meeting with us that requires the use of Webex, then we will use it. However, we typically use Zoom when we ourselves are the ones initiating the meeting.
  • Ease of installation.
  • Granular control over various aspects of the meeting.
  • Screen sharing doesn't always work right on Macs, particularly when only trying to share a specific application.
  • Webex doesn't always automatically detect the headphone and mic currently in use on the system (again, on Macs).
  • As we use Webex typically in a passive capacity, I can't say that it's had any impact on ROI, whether positive or negative.
  • However, it has been a useful tool when utilized, but other tools would have been just as good.
Our organization actually prefers Zoom, and uses it almost exclusively for initiating meetings. We basically don't have a use for TeamViewer any longer.
I've never had to contact support for Webex Meetings yet. I guess that could be taken as a positive sign of the overall stability of the product! However, based on the support that we've received with other Cisco products, I would assume that the support given for Webex Meetings would be satisfactory.

Yes

Would you buy Webex Meetings again?

No

I have personally used Webex Meetings many times, and there is only one time that sticks out in my mind where there was any kind of outage that required the meeting to be rescheduled. Overall, the availability and reliability have been satisfactory and on-par with other tools of a similar nature that we use.
On Mac computers, there have been times when Webex Meetings did not work well. This particularly seems to be the case when it comes to screen sharing and audio selection. As to screen sharing, there have been times when I would attempt to share a specific application in Webex, but the other people on the meeting couldn't see my screen. As for audio selection, Webex doesn't always do a good job of automatically selecting the current headset and microphone that you are using. It will sometimes default to a different audio input/output than the one currently in use by the system. Zoom never seems to have this problem.
It is well suited for large scale meetings where there is a single or small group of presenters sharing with a large, passive group. It is not as well suited for meetings where there is a lot of back and forth in terms of who is presenting and who is screen sharing. Those transitions in Webex can be kind of cumbersome.
