Cloudflare, the only cloud worth using.
Overall Satisfaction with Cloudflare
We use Cloudflare for DNS, security, performance improvements, and load balancing for most of the web applications that our organization hosts for public use. It is the first line of defense for web and network security for services that are open to the entire internet, so it is an important piece of our overall security puzzle and tackles the bulk of the load regarding requests placed on our self-hosted resources.
Pros
- DNS
- SSL
- Performance improvements.
- Load Balancing.
- Web Application Firewall.
Cons
- Logging
- Some APIs are kind of clunky.
- Secured web services.
- Improve reliability.
- Automated management of web services and support.
Cloudflare's cloud/geo-relative implementation is best-suited for publicly available web resources.
We started by only using DNS and some redirection features, which went well and was very easy and quick for our team to implement and get used to. We then slowly started to use more features and in more complex and unique ways that our organization needed.
