  • We've been using a free plan, so we know that we aren't a priority on their list, but we had a severe issue in just one project, and they weren't able to help us with that.
  • We had to remove that website from Cloudflare and use another service since they couldn't help us, and they took a long time to respond to our inquiries.

We rarely have to call in, most issues are user error. When we do have an issue we can hop on chat or the forum to figure out why something is not working as it should. We do see the occasional issue when a hosting account is upgraded, you have to make sure you reset the DNS to the new hosting account, IP address tend to change.

While I've never contacted CloudFlare's customer support, I've read through a good amount of their documentation and tutorials. Overall the documentation is broad but not deep. While every section and function of CloudFlare's offering is covered, sometimes the detail is lacking. With configuration & server-related functionality, for peace of mind you want to know exactly how things will play out before making a change. With CloudFlare's documentation sometimes you don't get that peace of mind.

I've never needed to go to their support team because the UI is so easy to use and the documentation is fantastic. That is the best customer support you can ask for, in my opinion. Given what I've heard about them I trust that if I needed them, they'd be there.

Cloudflare support is not its strong suit, especially on the free tier (which is understandable). They have a lot of documentation available, but you will need to pay for person-to-person support.

Since Cloudflare is technically complicated in many ways, it would be nice if their documentation was more detailed in some areas.
