Overall Satisfaction with ConnectWise Control (formerly ScreenConnect)
Our IT department is a department of one. I use ConnectWise primarily to provide remote tech support to field staff, volunteers, and students. Some of our staff also use it as a remote desktop solution or screen sharing tool. It helps us with everything from tech support to program training.
Pros
- Easy to set up and deploy
- Clean interface
- Rich set of tools and features for the price
- Quick to connect or reconnect to remote machines
- Solid performance, even between screens with different resolutions
Cons
- Latency between machines (I realize most of this relates to the connection speeds of each machine)
- Some of the labeling/terminology (like "Host Pass") is unclear to non-tech savvy users. The term "Join" on the navigation to launch a remote session is self-explanatory. The term "End" suggests that a session can be stopped. Instead, it removes the machine from the list of clients.
- Host Pass should be on the main navigation, rather than hidden on a sub-menu. Need a clearer way to disconnect a host screenshare session.
- Much faster connection and remote session speeds than with our previous solution
- Much cheaper price than our previous solution
ScreenConnect is more efficient and easy to use, though a little more confusing to set up than the others.
