Overall Satisfaction with Contractor Foreman
We have been rolling out various components of Contractor Foreman over the past years.
We currently use for the following:
1. Estimating - we have found the estimating module to be very well thought out. It permits using various sections and pulling input information from various sources. It has many great features such as the ability to apply bulk mark up to a section or to the entire invoice or to selected categories (for example all materials could have a given percentage mark up and all labor could have another applied. One minor downside is that fractions of a percentage can not yet be employed (i.e. you can do a 22 or 23% but not 22.5% mark up); however, their team has said they are working to modify.
2. Invoicing - invoicing has been great and permits various formats included AIA which is very helpful for us.
3. Project management: the to do list feature is great and allows check boxes and multiple, unlimited sections. They can be assigend to various users. Also, the punchlist feature is very well created to assign items by trade and to various trade partners. Submittals are also often employed to great effect.

Pros
- To do list
- Invoicing
- Estimating
- Submittals
- Punchlists
- Ability to customize forms
Cons
- Scheduling module
- UI speed
- Positive return for invoice/change order tracking
- Great price
- Prior to using Contractor Foreman we had to wait until the end to capture all change orders in one summary. Now, with the client portal, we can capture in real time and the client has visibility.
- We have been trying to reduce administration time in tracking field expenses and with Contractor Foreman our field crew can uplaod reciepts and track expenses right from their mobile phones.
- Punchlist - the punch list and To Do features are so robust we have drastically improved getting punchlists and small tasks completed in single trips without the wasted time and travel of multiple trips due to missed/forgotten items.
Contractor Foreman has Far better pricing.
Contractor Foreman also offered a pricing guarantee (i am not sure of that is still the case).
There are a few features that the top tier subscriptions of the others offer that Contractor Foreman is lacking: specifically a "selections" module; however, I beleive the price differential far makes up for that lack. On the other hand Contrcatore Foreman has pucnhlist and to do's that others seem to be just rolling out. I beleive JobTread is closest in price and seems to be similar.
