Overall Satisfaction with D&B Hoovers

We have Zoominfo, and we were comparing the differences between the two in terms of data quality. We were seeking to find the same quality or better, so we would only need one data enrichment tool for our sales team. The primary users for this system would be our sales development representatives, who would farm for contact and lead data points, especially for email and phone numbers.

Pros

  • The number of available contacts and leads was larger than Zoominfo.
  • The use of the User Interface was easy enough for our sales team.
  • The data points were mostly current and available.

Cons

  • More expensive.
  • Murkier pay structure.
  • There were misses on some contact data.
  • Reduce time wasted on incorrect phone numbers.
  • Less bounced emails.
  • Customer research improvement.
D&B's company data is the best out there. We have run various comparisons with other data enrichment tools and have had our SDRs run their list of top 100 customers and prospects to verify the data points. D&B runs the most authentic and most accurate. The fields most important to us are revenue, locations, employees, name, address, and tech stack.
This is D&B's bread and butter. The data is good, but with a constantly changing environment, this is probably the best we could hope for. The data gets enriched whenever they know a change, and they have various hooks to identify when those changes are made. But there will be misses. Our most essential fields are phone, email, and title.
For company data, D&B wins hands down. Contact and lead information is a toss-up. The information provided was usually a match to both, and I wouldn't say one was better than the other by a wide margin. It really depends on who you are researching. Both did not do well with contacts overseas, but US-based contacts and leads were roughly equivalent.

Do you think D&B Hoovers delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with D&B Hoovers's feature set?

Yes

Did D&B Hoovers live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of D&B Hoovers go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy D&B Hoovers again?

Yes

When you want to work out of just one system, the import method of D&B Hoovers works better for team members who want to work out of just one system. There is significant training and ramp-up for the team to get up to speed. It is a bit less intuitive than Zoominfo, but not difficult at all. Our team was able to ramp up quickly, but from personal experience, it seems a bit less intuitive.
