Overall Satisfaction with Db2

We use Db2 to store application data for our utilities and Db2 solutions. Our use case is software development.

Pros

  • Performance

Cons

  • Documentation, maybe more Youtube content.
  • I have seen systems from LUW to z/OS providing the business with greater availability and stability.
I have seen single Db2 subsystems used to host multiple business applications from card embossing to statement production.
I have seen Db2 provide great availability than other platforms can offer.
From working with other databases, I always felt that Db2 was at the top of its game in all aspects of performance, recoverability, and stability—pretty much everything you want out of an Enterprise database system.
