Overall Satisfaction with Deputy

We use Deputy to manage and track employee shifts, roles, and pay rates. Prior to using Deputy, we were manually tracking employee hours. Since using Deputy across all teams, it has saved hours of time monthly to determine payroll and verify employee times. Also, since the pandemic, much of our team works remotely so it's been a life saver to manage in-house and remote workers.
  • Easy to start and end shifts
  • Easy to schedule and see at a glance when employees work, their breaks, work times vs project schedule, etc.
  • Convenient tracking of employee shifts
  • Getting notification when staff start and end shift or any shift issues
  • Scheduling the team out for weeks or months
  • Reporting features could be more robust
  • When entering tasks on the desktop, if you click outside the box it deletes the task without saving it
  • Ability to sort or group tasks or to assign to multiple team members at once
  • Saved about 3 hours of my time weekly scheduling staff, tracking hours and setting up payroll.
  • Puts the time management onto the team while I still have control and monitoring at my fingertips
  • Makes end of year payroll easier and quicker to see stats per staff, role and group.

Most features on both the desktop and app are simple, quick and effective to use. We primarily use Deputy for the timesheet tracking and scheduling features and that works great for us. There are a few minor buggy things that could use improvement, like on writing and organizing tasks and some reporting capability, but that did not affect our overall usability and satisfaction with the program.
Implementing Deputy was easy and seamless. From setting up our team profiles to ongoing scheduling and time tracking and engaging users in the program, it's great to have the ability to have all of it in one place. Saves times managing, tracking and record keeping.
I would highly recommend Deputy for ease of employee scheduling, tracking, and timesheets for payroll, budgeting and cost/labor comparisons, for scheduling visuals and notifications, ease of use, and it takes only a few minutes to signup and train new team members on how to use. I've not used much of the integration features with other programs but those seem to be fairly seamless. And I would say that it's not as strong in the task/project management area, but for basic tasks and notes between employees it does the job.
