Overall Satisfaction with Deputy

My business uses Deputy on a daily basis. It helps my employees to clock in, request time off, and keep track of their hours. I also write the weekly schedules on it and can check staffing expenses as I do it. I like that it allows me to input information on my staff such as contact information, pay, and job qualifications.

  • I would like more customizable options per store
  • Having an option to just have leave or unavailability, but not both offered
  • Time saved writing schedules

  • Makes it easier to keep track of labor expenses
Kronos was not user-friendly. It was very limited on what could be done and my staff struggled to use it as well. Deputy is updated and continues to update. One of the biggest differences is my staff being able to swap shifts with other staff members. This gives so much more relief to management, as they do not have to figure it out for the staff member.

The fact that my older staff, that do not know how to use a computer, can accurately clock in and out, request time off, and view their schedules, shows how easy Deputy is to use. The app you can download on your phone, it makes these actions, even more, user-friendly.
It took me a bit to get all my staff input from our previous scheduling software. However, once all the information was there, everything went smoothly and we were able to start implementing Deputy right away. It did not take long to train my staff and have them comfortable with using the system.
It was a large step up from Kronos, which we used before. Even my older staff, who do not know how to use a computer, have been trained to log in, clock in and out, and request time off. When I write schedules, I love the copy and paste feature, it saves me a lot of time.
