Overall Satisfaction with DraftSight
In every project, we use DraftSight for piping and instrument drawing which will be used by our design team to prepare 3D models. Draftsight drawing is almost the first step in every project. Actually, most of the time, this step starts even before winning the project - at the bidding stage. These drawings help in understanding the scope of the project in the early stage of the project lifecycle.
Pros
- Easy to use
- Industry standard practices
- Compatibility
Cons
- More customization features
- Importing or exporting from or to other software programs
- As it is a comparatively easy tool to use, we didn't invest much in time, and it is only for the software
- As it is quick to use or modify, it is widely used by engineers from pass to cost estimator
- Often sent to the customer to explain the scope graphically
- AutoCAD and AutoCAD 360
DraftSight is easy to use, and less expensive. The familiarity of office personnel with the software. Easy to learn. Familiarity among customers or in other words, the product is well known in the industry and considered as one of the standard software products for a 2D drawing. Also, it's compatibility with 3D drawing software.
