Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox
It is the main tool used for my department to share and organize all our work. We each have our own folders for our private work, and shared folders for our shared duties. We use it to coordinate our efforts to engage alumni and to fundraise most effectively. We try not to keep anything on our desktops, it all is stored in Dropbox.
- Several people editing the same document in succession
- Keeping the department organized
- Archiving historical data
- It can be confusing when multiple people are accessing the same document at the same time, and alternate versions can be saved
- Sometimes there is a lag between when files are dragged in and when others can see/access them
- Sometimes the search fuction within dropbox folders does not function properly
- It helps members of our team to share documents seamlessly
- It facilitates simple sharing of documents even when working remotely
- It allows us to stay organized
- Box
I prefer Dropbox to Box. It's more familiar, and the interface is more elegant. With Dropbox I know where things are and how it is going to function. With Box, not so much. For my personal use, I also use Dropbox and like that I am again in that familiar universal workspace.
