Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

I use it to share files with other creative people. Other businesses send files for me to print. Keeps my email from filling up with huge files. When I need to transfer files from one computer to another but don't have a big enough thumb drive. As a backup for important files that I don't ever want to loose if a computer system crashes.

Pros

  • Easy to Search items
  • Easy to create folder names
  • Easy to move files from one folder to another
  • Easy to share a link to a folder with others.

Cons

  • The sort can be hard to use. By File name or by date etc. Sometimes I'm not sure if I have it in the correct order to find what I need if I don't know the file name.
  • I'm able to do more for my customers when we can share files. Otherwise there is a huge downfall to get files back and forth.
  • Keeping important files safe helps keep my business from ever having downtime do to lost files.
Privacy was key, I don't have an online product being intrusive and collecting data about how I do business. Storage size had a very valuable price point. Collaboration with others is very easy with link sharing. I don't have to "give permission" to every folder I send if I click on the shareable link from drop box. The Google Drive you have to answer an email to give permission for the other person to view the folder.

When large files need to be shared Drop Box makes it easy. Just drop the files into a folder, and send a link. Easy to collaborate with others remotely. Make it easy to remove access from those that you no longer want to share a folder with - show folder that have been shared so that the sharing can be removed if necessary.
