Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

Used as primary and sole cloud server for all operations. We are a traveling inspection company for dangerous containment composites and have inspectors at anytime in one of five countries. Coordination with shared files, safety data sheets and reporting databases is essential to our operation. Fast notification and syncing of files happens almost seamlessly eliminating the chance that an inspector will have erroneous or dated resources for the work done for our clients in real time.
  • Syncing files
  • Versatile folder control of what is available online vs offline
  • Ability to control the bandwidth to suit isolated locations and hotels
  • Simple shared link creation for sharing files or folders
  • Ability to use when offline and sync changes when connection is available
  • Robust admin section allowing vast control and observation of activities from all users
  • Simple review of deleted files for assurance
  • When using the file explorer the Dropbox folder has a bit of a spasms and you cannot rename or create folders when it does this. Only happens for about 4-5 seconds, so not a hindrance just slightly annoying
  • Better information on sync error notifications and how to resolve
  • Accessible drive image of entire file structure for file names can be located whether they are "offline" or "online" files.
  • No working from old data
  • Confidence in sync
  • Simple report submission links
  • Easy to access share links for outside business file sharing
We were looking for a cloud storage tool for individual use on a business structure, Dropbox is a good go-to solution for us. We already subscribe to Office 365, using OneDrive we needed more storage than provided. For small businesses like us and probably self-employed either one is a good choice. But Dropbox has only one product, and the company puts everything into it and shows. Microsoft, on the other hand, uses OneDrive as a way to boost its other offerings and its cookie tracking are evident in web searches that its tracking your habits and hobbies to "tailor" the "experience" LAMEEEE. Seems to be a side project to MS. Dropbox seems to really care about its file storage solution and user experience. They work hard to quickly make our business use experience a happy one. Seems that only Dropbox has a dedicated enterprise offering that we have found.

The file explorer showing folders on your computer is helpful and crutial for real time notification to all users. You can drop anything into for it to sync to the cloud and your other devices. You see icons added to every file, a green circle with a check mark means the file or folder is fully synced and available offline. A blue icon means the file is syncing or the folder contains files that are syncing. A gray cloud icon means the file is only available online. It's simple to understand and keep us in tune across the world. Pros: Plenty of additional features, Integrations with thousands of applications. Fast upload speeds.

Cons: Mildly Expensive, can be overly complex for notice IT users.
