Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

I use Dropbox professionally to share secure data, it's great for internal sharing without having to navigate emails. I also use it personally to share data between friends, and just backup any local information that I deem needed. It's very useful and convenient and integrates with your desktop or mobile device. I've been using dropbox off and on for the past ten years, it's held up great and my old files are still there, still secure.

Pros

  • Shares files
  • Stores files
  • backups
  • holds files for a long time
  • stable
  • share between friends
  • share securely professionally

Cons

  • I could use more storage, but the free version still gives you a good amount of storage
  • I can't think of too many things to dislike about this, Dropbox is pretty good
  • I have been able to share lots of secure data professionally, so the information has been secure and private. Return on investment has been great.
We've been using it pretty often and for a long time. It's pretty simple to use, anyone with the right credentials can share. The interface is drag and drop simple, and it even integrates with your desktop. Dropbox has been around for well over a decade, I used it in school over ten years ago. It was useful for sharing notes and project files. Those files still exist in my dropbox today!
I have tried to use Microsoft Onedrive to back up and share files. However, the limited space and desktop integration isn't as streamlined as Dropbox's. Plus Onedrive has limited space and it keeps backing up files I don't always want to back up, it is not always the greatest. For usability I prefer Dropbox.

Yes

I wanted to share some files for a class with a few classmates, and we were able to compare notes, some texts from class, and some books from our professor. We also used this on a project we were working on together. And this functionality was before a lot of other file sharing platforms were available, probably 2008. Dropbox has been a good place to securely share files for a long time. Since then, I've used it in the workplace to securely share passwords and other things.
