Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

I back up my files and photos directly to Dropbox and share files to other users. This helps me not to worry about moving files from my mobile devices and computers. It is done automatically and I always have the freshest and current versions when I access them. I have full control over what other users can see too in doing projects.

Pros

  • sync files
  • easy sharing
  • works on many devices

Cons

  • The pricing is higher than competitors
  • The drive sizes are smaller than others
  • More APIs to other software are needed like sharing from social media
  • It has made it easy to access my files from anywhere
  • the mobile version has been helpful
  • The pricing needs to be drastically lowered
Sometimes it is hard to find or download files to where I want them.
Drive is very similar, has more default storage size, and much cheaper. I started using Dropbox before Drive so I am not sure if I would have needed Dropbox.

Do you think Dropbox delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with Dropbox's feature set?

Yes

Did Dropbox live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Dropbox go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Dropbox again?

Yes

I have been using Dropbox since 2009 to sync my photos and files. It’s ideal for remote teams, offering easy access and version control. However, it’s less appropriate for highly secure or regulated environments, as its security features may not meet stricter compliance standards, and it lacks advanced project management tools.
