Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox
I am a freelance writer, designer, and editor, so I need clients and collaborators to be able to easily share elements or provide feedback. Dropbox makes it fairly effortless on all sides.
Pros
- Easy synch
- Creates more space on the "home machine"
- Collaborative tool - easy to share
- Available everywhere
Cons
- There is an opening "app window" that I invariably have to close
- Easier identification of files/folders that are shared and with whom
- Because remote work is easy with Dropbox, I can care for my son with Down Syndrome while still accessing work materials needed.
- When I open my laptop in a remote work setting - EVERYTHING IS THERE!
- GREAT archive.

Dropbox Feature Ratings
Using Dropbox
6 - Document edits and updates, as well as scheduled proofreading and oversight of story and plot development. Layout and design is also submitted for input and ongoing updates that are available instantaneously. Cloud storage means drive space is not used on all sides. Furthermore, color-coding allows us to be aware of document stages.
1 - I am a sole proprietor who works along (for 20+ years) so I need software I can master to the extent I can keep my collaborators up-to-date and comfortable with using it with me. Dropbox is easy to master, and encourages collaboration at a high level without high effort or stress.
