Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Dropbox in two ways. I am mostly retired but do some part-time work with community theatres. I used to share drawings and renderings of the work I'm doing. I also share folders for people to share their work with me for the show. The other thing I use it for is my genealogy research with family and friends.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Lets me quickly share large files.
Lets me share reach documents for verification.

Cons

It would be great if we can share live working on files like Google does.
An option to run a slide show feature on folders with just picture files

Return on Investment

Saves a lot of time by allowing us to share images, so we don't have to discuss everything. Gives people time to examine them before commenting.

Usability

Outstanding product, would have been a 10 if we had a live share editing function.

Alternatives Considered

The above questions would not let me answer them. I have had Dropbox for many years, and it is a wonderful resource. I have stayed with Dropbox, even though I use Google Drive, as some of the younger folks are stuck on it.

Likelihood to Recommend

It works great for file sharing in genealogy work. Live file sharing would be great in certain circumstances, especially when working with remote workers. While we can do editing, it creates an extra file when someone else makes changes simultaneously with you.
