Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox
It is a backup for all our files. We have no dependence on any one device since everything is in the cloud and accessible anywhere. It also allows us to simply and quickly share large files by using the 'Share Dropbox Link'. Particularly good integration with Mac OS. Finally, the selective sync option means I don't need to buy terabytes of storage on each device.
Pros
- Cloud storage to be independent of devices
- Ability to share links to large files with one click
- Selective sync means no need to buy Tb of physical storage on portable devices
Cons
- Selective sync is a major feature that should be more easily accessible and simpler to use (eg highlighting large directories that are rarely accessed)
- File search on dropbox.com is a mess. I find it very difficult to search for and find specific files easily using web access compared to in the file system on my Mac.
- Reduced hardware costs
- Improved business continuity
- Time saved on sharing files/docs
