Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In my company Egencia was used across the whole organisation. Each of the employees was booking hotel or transportation via Egencia website for every business travel. We were doing it on our own by logging on the website, searching for the options we were interested in and confirming our choice.

Cons

When there were problems with flight (cancelled / rescheduled), Egencia was not helpful to clarify it with the airline
Different availability depending on the region you are logging in from

Alternatives Considered

I used another solution which required pending for a consultant to propose options and then waiting for the chosen option to be booked. Contrary to that, in Egencia I searched for the options myself, had the results after short waiting time and was able to finalize the booking without waiting for someone else's action.

Support Rating

When I had a problem with cancelled and rescheduled flight Egencia team was not helpful at all. They claimed that in their system the flight is still happening hence they will not advise on anything else. I had to spend a lot of time calling the airline to clarify the details and to find out when my flight is happening in the end.

Egencia is well suited for companies with many employees who travel often for business and want to provide flexibility to the employees on various accommodation and travel options. If you want to allow your employees to make their own choice in terms of travel that is the tool for your organisation.
