Exclaimer Cloud - Signatures for Office 365

Overall Satisfaction with Exclaimer

Exclaimer empowers our organization to standardize the company e-mail signature across all of our e-mail devices. Exclaimer enables us to effectively configure user signatures with little manual configuration for end-users. The e-mail client installs through GPO and configures outlook with a standard e-mail format and appropriate user attributes (name, title, address, etc...) One valuable feature is e-mails sent from mobile devices are also signed correctly. We are able centrally to manage signature templates, users, and campaigns with ease.
  • Centralized management of signature, users and templates.
  • Exclaimer applies signatures to e-mails from mobile devices.
  • End-user configuration is minimal; only a local agent is needed on the end-user computer.
  • We've had some issues with the local agent updates.
  • OOO e-mail's are not signed.
  • Signature templates can be difficult to set up and display correctly without HTML knowledge.
  • Time saved manually updating signatures (promotions, addresses, name changes).
  • Consistent experience across the entire organization.
  • Inadvertent changes (Client update, policy changes) are applied immediately.
The logic to set up different signatures is difficult within Exclaimer. The admin console is web-based and a little clunky to copy and paste signatures, modify, then apply to a different group. My solution has been to use different office groups to apply different signatures. This adds to the administrative burden, and so its use is limited. There is no real test environment to play with possible configurations, so I'm always a little leery when making changes.

Do you think Exclaimer delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Exclaimer's feature set?

Yes

Did Exclaimer live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Exclaimer go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Exclaimer again?

Yes

Exclaimer relies on Active Directory to pull user attributes and standardize signatures. Due to the automation, it works well with mid to large deployments. Scenarios where different departments need different signatures, can be difficult to set up. The rules can be a little tricky and are applied immediately, so a change can have unintended negative consequences. There is no real test environment. The on-premise administration console was better, IMO.

Using Exclaimer

In the order that I recall the setup process:
Signature templates need to be set up (attribute mapping to AD)
Office 365 connector needs to be set up (global admin needed and exclaimer engineer for guidance)
Signature policies need to be set up (who gets which signatures)
Office membership groups need to be setup (who in the org will use exclaimer)
Members need to be added to those groups (user membership)
Agents need to be deployed on the end-user hosts (local agent)
