A dream for travel expenses
Overall Satisfaction with Expensify
We mostly use Expensify for travel - flights, meals, hotels, rental cars. However, it also has been helpful for miscellaneous office supply and other purchases that used to be reimbursements. It has greatly simplified our processes, travel can be booked directly with vendors rather than through a third party and we no longer need to wait for reimbursements on other purchases. I use Expensify every time I travel.
Pros
- It is so easy to instantly upload and tag receipts on the go
- It notifies you when components of an expense are missing
- It automatically submits reports at the end of the month
Cons
- I find the email forwarding of receipts a bit clunky - if there is a tip or a hotel expense that is not exactly and easily matched to the receipt, the site will generate a separate report.
- It does not allow you to upload pdfs from your phone, I have to take a screenshot so I can upload it from my camera roll
- If a report item is incomplete, it will not autosubmit, which is a good feature, but it would be nice if there was an email reminder at the end of the month if your report has outstanding errors
- Less time spent reconciling reimbursements
- More effective travel schedules
- Less revenue lost when changing travel plans
Expensify is so much better!!! TravelPerk had us spending hours on the phone with their concierge to get the best travel options, to rebook cancelled or delayed travel, and to make any changes to the itinerary before a trip. It was clunky and ineffective. We often lost money unnecessarily by booking through them.
