Overall Satisfaction with Expensify

At our company, Expensify is used to process and reimburse expenses incurred by employees using their personal funds. Expensify provides a reporting structure (which categorizes expenses by department, use category, and further description) as well as a reimbursement structure (direct deposit). Expensify also helps with compiling reimbursements making the life of the approving supervisor easy.

Pros

  • Compiling expense report for managers
  • Speedy reimbursement
  • Categorizing expenses based on a custom data structure defined by you
  • Extensive rules for consistent documentation

Cons

  • The SmartScan receipt feature doesn't work sometimes.
  • Perhaps a suggestion feature for categories based on prior submissions.
  • Perhaps options to add vendors based on prior submissions.
  • Cuts down on time required for reporting
  • Cuts down on time required for approving/reviewing expenses
  • Cuts down on time spent awaiting reimbursements
When I joined Expensify it had an extensive tutorial phase where it explained all it's features. Full disclosure, I skipped that tutorial, but the layout was so simple and self-explanatory I never really needed any help to use the platform.

I've never encountered any issues with Expensify. As a manager approving expenses it has always organized and collected data incurred by employees very well. As an employee submitting expenses, it has been very speedy with reimbursement and filing of expenses. The entire process is very smooth which is why I don't see our company switching any time soon.
