Overall Satisfaction with FileZilla
We use FileZilla to move large book files between freelance editors and developers and also use it when sending book files to our foreign coworkers who will translate the material into other languages. It is used by people within our organization. It addresses the problem of moving large files (over 25MB) electronically between needed individuals.
Pros
- File distribution.
- Ease of use into the direct folder you need to put it.
Cons
- I wish that it would have an easier dashboard to highlight exactly where you are in the program.
- Allowed us to send large files without having to ship a CD to someone.
- Shipping means money and time - this is so much quicker!
FileZilla works in the same way, but this allows for greater security if your company is concerned at all with the Google platform. FileZilla actually makes you open a connection on a server and upload and then closes that connection. Dropbox is like Google - it's always open. Dropbox feels like the free version and FileZilla feels like the paid version - even though it is free.
