GoodData - best choice for visual reporting
Overall Satisfaction with GoodData
We are currently using GoodData primarily for data modeling, visual analytics and embeded reporting, which we can integrate directly into our application and share dedicated workspaces with our clients. Key benefits are large scale of predefined metrics, visual components and easily configurable dashboards. Also Data Modeling approach used in GoodData simplifies overall process how to prepare important data sets for us.
Primary we solve our needs to have embeded analytics in our app. With GoodData we dont need any internal development resources to work on this and it was really fast to have it ready and implemented in our platform.
Pros
- Visual Analytics
- Embeded Reporting
- Data Modeling
Cons
- Some features in cloud platform are available only within API
- Very rarely we have found some outdated documentation
- Reduced in-house development effort to minimum
- Easy and powerful tools for visual data analytics
- Great approach for data modelling with definition of data sources and metrics
There was no such a big issue or complication to implement GoodData product into our stack. GoodData is running on their own cloud so from deployment perspective there was nothing to do for us. We just need to define and improve our data aggregation and ETL processes, setup data sources and metrics. Define customers dashboards and integrate them into our app. So it takes just a few weeks to have it all up and running.
For me there was no real experience with this two features, we are mostly using visual reporting. So there no real experience with business intelligence or analytics tools in GoodData.
GoodData comparing to other platform is very easy to use, customer support and on-boarding support. Set of features, speed of integration in our platform. Also great benefit for us was very competetive pricing.
