Overall Satisfaction with Google Drive
I use Google Drive to store and share all work-related files. I also use it to send articles to clients and partners for review. Every department uses Google Drive though. I know no matter who I'm sending something to in the company, they'll be able to access and use a Google Drive link. Great product!
- Ease of use
- Storage
- Sharing files
- The biggest problem that comes up is when sharing a file and you accidentally don't give the person access. It's easy to forget. I shared something yesterday and then closed my computer, not realizing I never gave anyone permission to view it. Maybe the UX could bring it to your attention rather than you have to search it out.
- Honestly, the rest is great. No notes.
- When Google Drive is suitable for certain document writing, our time to publish is reduced significantly. Instead of sending files back and forth on an antiquated technical writing platform, it's so much quicker to be in the document at the same time.
- If we could only effectively write technical documents in Google Drive, it would positively impact our ROI.
We use Madcap for most writing, and Google Drive when we can. Madcap allows you to write and store a library of documents in its platform. It has a multitude of technical writing features: snippets, user guide building, variables. It's just impossible to collaborate with it. It has a terrible document review system.
I would love it if Google Drive just developed some technical writing capabilities, and we were able to build user guides and articles within Google Drive.
