Overall Satisfaction with Google Sheets

Google Sheets is used in a range of functions across the business. Primarily from a sales function it is used for data formatting including imports and exports into our CRMs and data enhancements tools, it is used for pipeline management, as well as deal management. Beyond this it is used for pricing restructuring and commission tracking.

Pros

  • Clean UI
  • Learning curve is simple
  • Edit history and real time tracking
  • Wide range of functions

Cons

  • Design formatting can be tricky
  • Integration with other parts of Google Workspace would be useful
  • Auto formulas can be overbearing
  • Upsells due to tracking deal and current customers
  • Increase in converted cold contacts due to being able to flow data through it into our CRM
  • Business improvement by reviewing pricing tables
Incredibly clean and easy to use UI. It is designed with the average user in mind, not for someone who is an expert, however expert tools are there to dig into when ready. It is very clean and responsive. However I did mark it down a touch as it could be improved by having cross referencing with other files in your Google Drive, as well as I find that it can try to auto formula too often which can be a little frustrating.
Sheets is just far easier to use. Excel feels like trying to pilot an aircraft at time and can be too complicated for it's own good. So, for using Sheets for not an overly complex use case, where I need my database tool to be clean, easy to use, and with the functionality I need easily learnt it ticked all the boxes.

Having used alternative tools in the past I find that Google Sheets is the most applicable to day to day use. Working in sales there's the constant need to keep on top of deals, pipeline and pricing models, by using Sheets I'm able to do this very easily. I don't have the time to take courses on how to use tools like Excel so Sheets being so easy to use means I can keep on top of important metrics quickly and efficiently.
