Overall Satisfaction with Google Tasks
My company uses Google Workspace (formerly G Suite), and Google Tasks is built into my Google Account. Initially, it seemed like the perfect, "first-party" platform for task management with tight integrations to Gmail and Google Calendar.
- Tight integration with Gmail.
- First-party integration with Google Calendar.
- Simple and straightforward interface.
- Lack of power user features and customizations for GTD fanatics.
- Lack of well-designed native iPhone/Mac apps.
- Works best only if you use Gmail and Google Calendar in a browser.
- Linking emails to tasks and getting the emails out of my inbox.
- Surfacing tasks in my Google Calendar.
- It made it easier to get to "Inbox Zero."
- It was fairly seamless to use Tasks with Gmail and Google Calendar.
- Todoist: To-Do List & Task Manager
Initially I used Google Tasks because it was included in my Google Workspace subscription, and I thought it would be convenient to have a first-party solution that is tightly integrated with both Gmail and Google Calendar. However, I quickly wanted more robust features with greater flexibility for GTD and GTD-like task management workflows.
