Overall Satisfaction with GoToMeeting
Our organization uses GoToMeeting in a few different capacities. Occasionally we use it for our own meetings internally when someone is working offsite and can't make it physically. However it is primarily used by our support team when they have need to start a meeting with a customer to work through an issue. In some cases Sales & Marketing uses it for customer demos or prospect demos.
- Strong brand recognition - it helps when a lot of the customers and prospects we deal with are familiar with GoToMeeting - this means less friction and learning curve when we use it.
- GoToMeeting is convenient - it doesn't get much easier than sending a URL to get people into the meeting.
- Having to download the GTM installer every time we run a meeting can be a hassle, especially when pretty much everything is web-based these days.
- We're finding that in many of our use cases, a phone call is just as efficient (and has more quality/stronger connection) than using GoToMeeting or any other meeting tool for that matter. Not necessarily a knock on GoToMeeting, but wifi-connection issues are always a factor.
- GoToMeeting has definitely positively impacted our ROI because we use it to host webinars and demos to leads and prospective customers.
- Saves us a lot of time by allowing us to record our meetings and webinars.
- Zoom and Skype
We have a weekly meeting where at least one person in the meeting is offsite, and for these meetings we find Skype to be our best option. It's as easy as a phone call and we just share our screen with the person on the other end. GoToMeeting is a little bit of overkill in this scenario. It has nothing to do with GoToMeeting's feature set, just a convenience thing.
If we are experiencing network connections, we sometimes try out Zoom. Zoom also appears to be more convenient than setting up a GoToMeeting, but we only use Zoom's free version and there is a time limit on it for meetings.
