Overall Satisfaction with Heap

Heap is used by our Product organization to track user engagement and product adoption of new features. Heap personally helps me to understand who is following what workflow, what our most popular features are, and this gives me insights into how to improve my product overall. I also turn to Heap for generic usage metrics for Alpha/Beta products to report up to leadership.
  • Easy to build analytics graphs.
  • Easy to add events.
  • Bright and user friendly UI.
  • It can be a bit confusing on how to edit events to maximize accuracy.
  • I find the "user workflow" flow feature is built specifically for e-commerce platforms.
  • Unable to track "time between" events accurately. There is only an average option.
  • Helped us to build iterative products more confidently.
On a scale from 1-10, I find Heap to be incredibly user-friendly and easy to use. I enjoyed the training videos available and was quickly able to pick up how to create events and reports to track user interactions on our product. I would recommend Heap for its usability first and foremost.
On a scale from 1-10, Heap loads pages fairly quickly. The only time I experience delays is when I am loading a graph with perhaps too many events or filters on the page. But in terms of creating or searching for events or viewing reports, I don't ever experience a lag.
I have used Tableau but it required an engineer to support it.

Do you think Heap delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Heap's feature set?

Yes

Did Heap live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Heap go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Heap again?

Yes

Heap is well suited for PMs looking to gain fast insights/quickly identify who is clicking on what and how often. The data we collect from Heap is also leveraged and mixed into our more complex data science dashboards. I like Heap for its ability to answer specific questions quickly. However, if I wanted to be able to track time spent between events, I can only find the average. I also cannot follow a user through all the flows since our product has so many URLs and variations in the workflow. It's hard to read the flow result with so many cards popping up.
