Within my organization my department uses ion's platform LiveBall to host our microsite landing pages. This platform allows us to quickly launch a landing page to get our content into market prior to the launch of a larger website, and, allows us to capture user-generated lead information and route it through our CRM.
- Scalability is one of ion's most impactful quality to my company. The template structure allows for a uniform look and feel while allowing enough flexibility to meet the needs of our individual clients.
- Information capture and routing is also another thing the platform does well.
- I find the rule-based substitutions a tremendous help because it allows more granularity in customization of more nuanced elements within a single creative.
- Some of the template structures/themes are more rigid than other CMS I use in terms of their development.
- The platform does not have a versioning system for the individual components.
- Some of their features and the functionality of these features are inconsistent across different creatives. The out-the-box approach can be very time-consuming when not using existing creatives and templates as a result.

ion is a comparable product to WordPress in some aspects of user experience and versatility. We've integrated elements of ion with Salesforce, which has given certain groups more flexibility in their day-to-day tasks. There are pros and cons when comparing Ion to Drupal, and most of the things that had previously set ion apart from Drupal have since been resolved with custom solutions.
