Use Cases and Deployment Scope

When it was announced that Google Optimize was sunset in 2023, our organization was searching for a performant, easy-to-use experimentation, and personalization platform that fit into our tech stack. After an extensive POC process, we decided upon Kameleoon as our platform of choice due to the ease of integration into our tech stack, lightweight snippet, and knowledgeable customer success team dedicated to our success. Kameleoon allows us to experiment on our Headless WordPress platform, Atlas, using a visual or code-based editor.

Pros and Cons

Platform UX/UI is "clunky" and language used doesn't always make sense.
The widget editor is initially tough to understand with its crossover with the experimentation vs. personalization sections.
Adding additional reporting tools is manual/easy to forget.

Optimizely Web Experimentation, VWO and Google Optimize

The agency that helped create our new Headless website recommended Kameleoon and Growth book on top of the stalwart Optimizely. Our final round of POC was between Optimizely and Kameleoon, and the thing that pushed Kameleoon ahead was the size of their snippet and how easy it was to set up the Segment integration out of the box to do what we needed it to do. Although Kameleoon is relatively "new" to the North American market, they have continued to perform above and beyond our expectations.
