Overall Satisfaction with KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training

We use KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training to train our new team members and refresh awareness amongst the team that has already been onboard. The phishing tests are top notch and the AI automation really helps with the distribution and testing. It definitely works great to calculate the right level of phish testing for each team member based on their abilities and click rates.

Pros

  • AI based calculations of team member behavior
  • Reports of behaviors and tracking
  • Scheduling and quality of phishing tests runs

Cons

  • Setup of the back-end whitelisting was super tough! Lots of whitelisting, double whitelisting, etc.
  • Content could be more tailored for a mature audience. Our teams are getting tired of cartoons and may be more interested in some direct information that is clear to them.
  • I would suggest some improvement for vishing and smishing like Adaptive Security's training program.
  • Having a bit of time freed up to work on other things is very helpful and we are able to do this with the AI automated phishing testing
  • I do also like the fun in making security awareness training visible to the team. QR codes in the break rooms and shenanigans like that do make for good conversation.
This often helps a lot due to our team members being able to understand basic concepts of security but then needing to apply to tricky situations such as holidays, special events, and timeframes that line up and make the phishing tests very believable.
SSO and tie in with our directory makes it very simple!
Basic participation and click rates are helpful. Knowing who clicks, who responds, and who passes the tests are very important!

The typical scenario where it would be great is the corporate environment with the usual departments (legal, accounting, finance, marketing, operations, etc.) Basics and other types of on-boarding training are addressed and good enough for most teams. The higher level job role based trainings are a bit tough to get into as they are very specialized so I'm not sure that it's the best in that area.
