Overall Satisfaction with Litmus

We primarily use Litmus to quality check emails, ensuring they render correctly across different email clients, and they do not have other issues like accessibility. We also use Litmus to track additional data such as email clients that are not tracked by the email service providers. We sometimes use it to troubleshoot coding issues with emails.

  • Navigation of the new UI is a bit confusing
  • Tracking versions of the same email can be clunky depending on the email service provider
  • Can use some notification features e.g. soon-to-expire tracking codes, usage limit, etc.
  • Ensure email is viewable by all recipients and deliver the business impact they are designed to have
  • Visibility to email engagement not commonly tracked by email service providers
We have not used Litmus fully integrated with third-party software. We support a number of different ESPs, which are usually shared across multiple teams and vendors, each with different processes.
It sheds light and justifies increased effort to design emails that work with our audience. Most recently, we were able to use Litmus information to gauge the impact of Apple's Mail Privacy Protection (MPP) rollout. That helped us properly benchmark email performance against our historical and gain insights around what worked/did not work.
We have not to use Litmus' Proof feature.
Litmus is more widely recognized as the email testing platform to use, thus lending credibility to the results we show our clients.

Litmus has lots of features to help the workflow of email marketing. It could be beneficial to a team that can utilize most of those features, and integrate them with their email service provider. It has a nice user interface to share with external stakeholders (such as agencies with clients) to collaborate. Litmus pricing is on the higher side, so it may not work well for teams that only require the basic functions and are more focused on being cost-effective.
