Long time Litmus Lover!
Overall Satisfaction with Litmus
We use Litmus to Q/A all of the emails that go out to our global audience (over 200,000 contacts). We make sure the design looks good across all devices/clients, and that there are no other flags (email size, subject line/preheader wording concerns) that would cause the email performance to be in jeopardy. It is part of our process to check every email in Litmus.
Pros
- it simplifies and speeds up testing my content - the email previews are quick and easy to evaluate
- The accessibility/link validation is also super helpful! The ALT tag reminder is especially helpful
- The loading speed feature is great too! We like to report this back to other email creators when we see their emails taking a while to load.
Cons
- Customer support is speedy but also we've had a hard time finding resolutions. Logging into Litmus within our email tool and on the website is not seamless, and we've never gotten a good answer as to why.
- The price point is high for small businesses, I would hope they could offer something more cost flexible for those.
- Positive - We would literally not be capable of testing all our emails across devices and clients. Litmus is our saving grace for that!
- Positive - our team can manage the QA process without needing to involve other teams.
- The recommendations on email size and subject line content are helpful for future emails. It creates best practices for us!
We always look at the live previews within Salesforce Marketing Cloud for every email sent. It's very fast, convenient, and accurate. Only if we see concerns do we switch to logging into the online application. But for most all sends, it's a quick last step before we approve the email for sending!
We don't utilize the Litmus tracking pixel for engagement analysis. We actually use the raw data from SFMC and Validity at the moment. But that's not to say we wouldn't consider looking at Litmus's capabilities to cut down on the 3rd party application usage. We would do this closer to when our contract is renewing.
We have not yet used the Litmus Proof feature. The email drafts go through (too) many hands in the project process, and we cannot offer access to the tool to 3rd party vendors (our proofreader is not in-house). But perhaps we will consider this option in the future if it can work with our access processes.
- Everest (return path + 250ok)
We love Litmus's live previews capability, which is something that ReturnPath did not have at the time our contract started. We do see that Everest does have this feature now, but we do appreciate the direct in-app sync that Litmus offers (so that we don't have to log in to a separate tool).
