Overall Satisfaction with Loom

Loom is being widely used across the organization, but also for external communication when video messaging would be needed. We use it anytime we want to record a short video describing a problem, or if we want to walk someone through a process, and when we need to simultaneously convey a computer screen and one's voice.
  • At the same time you can see screen and hear your voice.
  • I don't have to type an email to describe a problem.
  • It can be shared, or re-watched, if it contains more complex explanations.
  • The quality of audio varies (I am using the same microphone).
  • There should be an option to insert tags and notes in a video.
  • Sometimes I need higher resolution, but I understand that this would slow down streaming.
  • No need to type.
  • There are some problems I can't describe in any other way.
  • Save a lot of time--if you made an instructional video for one person, you can share it to more individuals. Super convenient for onboarding, too.
I didn't use any other product like Loom. Skype or Viber just won't work for what I needed. I talked with people who used other products but didn't try one myself. Loom was the first to try and I stayed with it. I was satisfied enough with Loom that I didn't feel like exploring other options, which is also a huge time saver.

Very suited when you want to explain to a teammate how a certain tool works; you make a short video walking them through the process--they will be able to watch your screen as you switch from one tab to another, while your voice (and a small video in a corner) will supplement it with a verbal explanation. Not that it is not appropriate, but we use another tool for regular video messaging (that is our primary communication tool).
