Overall Satisfaction with Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite

I gave this answer a 9 because the Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite provides a balance between simplicity and power. For the most part, it’s super usable out of the box —but like any robust tool, there’s a curve for uses once they start going deeper. Still, it’s one of the most intuitive visual collaboration platforms out there and I see us continuing to use this for the foreseeable future.
I have explored a ton of visual tools over the years and Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite has consistently been a 'Go To' platform. The platform provides rich, useful and engaging visualization assets that make it easy for me to find just the right look, feel and functionality to create the experience that I know will best help me tell the story and communicate clearly what I am looking to simply, effectively grab the attention of my audience. Whether an internal meeting with an audience of just a handful of people or in large conference settings where I present big, bold ideas with clarity. With everything we have to do these days, having a reliable platform makes my day much easier.

Pros

  • Keeps my team and I on the same page.
  • Helps to visualize complex ideas in a simple way.
  • Can be used from the kick-off of a project through to the hand-off of project assets to production.
  • The introduction of AI is helping to speed up and refine work processes and automation.
  • Works as a home for ideas and a true north location for concepts.

Cons

  • Ease of onboarding some of our new users to get them up to speed on the platform so they are more fluent in using and sharing their work.
  • Could use more offline optional functionality for times when that may be required.
  • We can connect our Asana or Jira project, Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite’s built-in project tracking isn’t as robust as I have seen in other platforms.
  • Not that this happens often, but when it does using Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite tools on a phone or small tablet isn’t ideal. The interface is cramped, and many features are hard to access or don’t translate well to touch.
  • The introduction of AI for assisting in idea generation is a nice new addition - it still needs to evolve to be advanced to be as useful and reliable as I would like to be able to rely on.
  • Good: Helps to cut down of meeting time needed because it provides us with ideas well laid out and designed for easily understood idea sharing.
  • Good: Helps us to kick off our projects efficiently by helping to lay out the project needs and where each team or team member will play a role in the overall project.
  • Good: Keeps our projects moving by providing a shareable workspace where my team and I can collaborate and invite others from different teams to participate as well.
  • Good: Gives us access to the visualization tools that make it easier for us to create the kind of impactful visuals that help drive business.
  • Not so good: It's a great platform, however, like a lot of other platforms the licensing and access for every team member is a bit of a challenge. While we do have a number of licenses, it's somewhat problematic when a team member leaves or when we bring on new team members. The lead time to the licensing is longer that it should be and not as simple as some other platforms that we have used or still use for different functions.
  • Not so good: As mentioned earlier, the onboarding time to get new team members up to speed on using the Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite can be a bit longer than other platforms as some on the UI isn't as intuitive as it could be.
I have used Lucidchart for quite some time, and while it works great with some platform integrations, it doesn't work with all of them. For instance, if we're working on diagramming workflows or product logic in Lucidchart, we can easily link elements directly to Jira tickets which keeps product planning easy to manage on the fly. It's simple, easy to see and easy to share. We also use Google Workspace and since Lucid diagrams are stored and shared just like any other Google file, so they’re super easy to organize within shared drives across our teams and our agency. I especially like how I can embed Lucid visuals directly into Docs and Slides for things like client presentation decks or strategic brand planning. Those are the two that we use the most currently. In the past, I have connected Zapier for project automations and have been able to easily connect our dev team to GitHub for their overall team needs.
When it comes to the Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite, I'd say that in my experience, Lucid’s tools are a stable collection of reliable tools as a 'Go To' for many projects. I can easily count on one hand the number of times the platform lagged or went down. That’s a huge deal when you’re in a live working session and can’t afford tech hiccups that can throw things off the rails quickly. The 'Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite' makes new team members enjoy jumping into Lucid—especially when they start using Lucidspark. It’s a fun, visual, and less intimidating than firing up other applications and is easier on the uptake with a shorter learning curve. Since they say 'Time is money' I'd say that Because everyone can see, comment, and tweak in real time, we move faster - meaning we don't waste time and we don't waste money. Ultimately, for me the Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite doesn’t just support my team's collaboration—it actually helps accelerate it, making remote, hybrid and on-site teamwork feel more human, connected, and productive.
We haven't had many instances to reach out to Lucid Support. However, on the few times that we did, we found the responses to be in a timely and thorough manner. Which makes it a relief to not have to worry should we need to get help in a real-time situation. That's a thing that we always look for when we vet a platform - how, when and where can we connect to a knowledgeable Support Team that won't have us chasing our tails. Lucid's Support Team was there for us when we needed it.
While all of the other platforms we have evaluated and some we even use, Lucid has it's own unique solution and aesthetic that we find to work well for us for many of our different deliverables. There is no "One-App-Does-All" solution out there, however, when it comes to delivering on their promise of making important visualizations easily doable with excellent results, that where Lucid has been a reliable resources and partner platform for us.

Do you think Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite's feature set?

Yes

Did Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite again?

Yes

The Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite works well for getting our remote and hybrid team members to work together - in real time - and collaborate of projects in a seamless manner. The suite helps us to individually and collectively map out complex concepts and campaign ideas that need to be understood more immediately in order for us to get buy-in early. Where the Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite isn't as strong is in the depth and breadth of project integrations and project management. We have also had a few instances where the offline functionality wasn't capable of helping us at off-site presentations where we had issues with the local wi-fi caused us to scramble a little to get the full suite working. We would also like to see Lucid step up on the comparative design outputs that we have found in other platforms like XD or Figma.
