Overall Satisfaction with Lucidchart

It is as simple or complex as you need it to be, dragging and dropping figures to connect and create the process is really easy. Since it is running in a web browser, there is nothing to install, nothing to patch or maintain, and we can just give our people their user and password to log in. From an administration perspective, this is a breeze, no need to install on new machines, and if the user leaves the company we just delete their information and that is it. Having different versions of the same chart lets us see if the changes we made make sense when implementing them, and go back to the previous version if need be. Sharing the charts between different users and letting them modify them is also very nice.

We have been using LucidChart at INTERTEL for the last 4 years, and it is a really excellent chart and diagram solution. We are using it to map out all our processes across the whole company, from sales and marketing to operations and support. Even our programming department uses it for their internal processes, and they have been using SCRUM internally. Having all our processes mapped out really help us to understand if there are any roadblocks in our organization, and the correct flow of information from one department to the other. But the main use we have for it is that it allows us to assign responsibilities for each part of the process to the correct person/department, and in our industry having this information is key. Also, it is a plus that the cost of the license is not that expensive compared to other similar solutions, and even the free version has enough features and options to help out everyone. We recommend LucidChart to everyone that asks us about it.

  • Mapping out processes and workflows
  • Allowing the whole enterprise to see how each process interacts with the other departments
  • Pointing out areas of opportunity between each process
  • Eliminating unneeded steps in each process
  • Helping the new hires to understand the process and areas that they are going to help with
  • Printing each chart out and having them in every department helps when trying to change or update a process
  • The free version offers a lot of functionality but you cannot print the complete chart
  • Translate between languages, our company is in Mexico but we have a lot of people coming from the USA
  • Add the option to import or make our own shapes and chart types
  • Our recruitment process has been streamlined since we can visually show our process to new hires and have them understand the process before being involved
  • We have updated all of our processes to make them easier and faster to do, just by paying attention to the way that they interact with the other areas
  • We eliminated a complete service that we were offering when we noticed that those activities could be done by one department instead of two
We do not have LucidChart integrated with Salesforce (our CRM) or Zapier, which we use for a lot of our automation work, but we are looking into using LucidChart with Slack, which we use for our day to day communication, internal and external. Our idea is to allow a user to see and understand each department´s workflow from within Slack, without having to log into LucidChart, but we have not put that plan into motion just yet.
We have only required, in four years, to use LucidChart´s support once: We could not log in with our main account, but we could with the other accounts, and the problem happened to be that our administrator changed their user information, it required to respond to an email sent out, and he did not do that, so the account got "suspended" With the help of support we straightened that out fairly quickly and without any other incident, the problem was resolved in less than an hour and we were up and running.

Do you think Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite's feature set?

Yes

Did Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite again?

Yes

We used both solutions before deciding to use LucidChart. Creately works really great and is an excellent option, but their pricing was so outside of our requirements that it did not make sense to continue with our demo. Also, their salespeople did not follow up with us, they were difficult to reach and find, and they did not send out quotes.
draw.io is free and works great for what it is, but it did not offer any options to collaborate between people and users, and did not allow us to make the changes that we needed (massive changes to charts) Also, since it is an XML file, it is missing a lot of formatting and configuration options for each chart
We think that LucidChart works best for companies that have a lot of interconnected processes, this way you can see and understand the relationship between each and every process, also it is always easier to understand a process by seeing a representation of it, and LucidChart allows you to do that very easily and cheaply
It is not so well suited for companies that only have one process that they follow all day long, or that they cannot change or update because of company policies of requirements. Also, if your industry is regulated by the government, it does not make sense to have all your processes in LucidChart, since you are probably getting a lot of them from the government and cannot make any updates to them, or change them in any way shape or form.
